If you don't want to make straight use of the on line services provided by the Microsoft Account and so the 1st matter to do is to switch the computer to using a local account. MA cannot take a blank password.
Once on the Local business relationship y'all can then either define that the computer logs on automatically with that business relationship or apply the change password function to set the countersign blank.

I just recently allowed the upgrade to Windows 8.1 in hopes that it was more user friendly than 8. When using 8, I didn't have to sign in to my calculator when I booted up or when it woke from sleep. With 8.1 I don't have to log in at boot upward but every time my computer goes to sleep manner it demands a password on wake up. The one it wants is my Microsoft password.
What inverse? How do I change information technology dorsum? I've gone to control panel to change the power setting merely it is already set to 'don't ask for password on wake up' - nevertheless it however demands ane.
I see references to a local account. Is that what I had with 8? Occasionally a popup would demand that I sign in to Microsoft so, but non at wakeup. If I alter to Local Account what, if annihilation do I lose?
My figurer is in my domicile and I am the merely user. I leave and come up back to my computer often so this countersign thing is a major irritation. What makes Windows think they take the right to decide whether or not I need a countersign?
Please aid me solve this before I go berserk and smash my figurer.

- Relieve changes.
Desktop (WinKEY + D) - Right Click on a blank area - Personalize - lower right Screen Saver -
untick - On resume, brandish logon screen - APPLY - OK.

Sorry, I don't run across where I can mark this as a question, only it is.
Since yous were then helpful in getting the countersign requirement off my computer, I hope you can aid with a problem or problems that I recall I may have created while trying to get rid of the countersign problem.
I have gotten used to going to Facebook and Outlook from the beginning menu rather than the desktop since the start menu was what opened first. I noticed yesterday, earlier I got your answer then I know that didn't cause the problem, that when I tried to reply to an e-mail information technology would show an error message that said the content couldn't be shown in a frame. However, if I closed Outlook there and went to desktop and clicked on the large e, I could get to Outlook and things worked ordinarily. That method still works, but now I can't go Outlook or Facebook to open through the start menu at all.
Did I do something to cause this or is it a separate trouble altogether? I used to think I was pretty computer savvy, only Windows keeps getting more than subconscious and my brain is apparently fading. I volition capeesh any help you can offer.
